The Greenmarket runs every Friday through October 9 from 8am-2pm.  The "Monday Market" returns from 3pm-7pm beginning July 6th until August 31.

Saugatuck-Douglas Jazz Festival

The Idlewild Foundation presents the Saugatuck-Douglas Jazz Festival on July 31 and August 1, 2009.  The festival is supported by the Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts.

The festival will begin on Friday night at 7pm at the Saugatuck Brewing Co with the Marcus Miller Quintet.

On Saturday morning at 11:30am, the eighteen piece Flat River Big Band will lead the festivalgoers in a parade into lakeside Coghlin Park where many groups will perform in the sunshine.  While the music is being played, the festivalgoers will have the chance to see jazz movies and an Idlewood documentary and to purchase food at the Saugatuck United Methodist Church.  Food and artwork will also be available for purchase at Coghlin Park.  Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged for Coghlin Park.  No glass, grills or alcohol permitted in the park.

Beginning at 7pm beautiful music will take the stages at Saugatuck United Methodist Church, Saugatuck Christian Reformed Church and at the Saugatuck Brewing Co.

Tickets for the indoor venues are $20.  Tickets for Coghlin Park are $40.  Children under 15 are free.  Discount packages are available.  Tickets can be purchased online or 313-965-0505.

"Big Picture" - Allegan

The Allegan Community Players' "Broadway: The Big Picture, Take 2" on July 31 and August 1 at 7pm and August 2 at 2pm at the Allegan High School Performing Arts Center. 

Tickets are $8, youth age 12 and younger are admitted free with an adult ticket.  The show features selections from the musicals "Rent", "South Pacific", "Mama Mia", and others.
