The Tulipanes Latino Art and Film Festival will host its 11th Anniversary Festival on Sat & Sun, Sept 17 & 18 in the center of Holland (Michigan) will serve as the principal venue for several events such as the Children's Art Workshop "Hands that Heal", Pinata Breaking, The Musical showcase which future music and dances groups representing Mexico and Latin America. Award-winning films will be shown at the historical Knickerbocker Theatere. Films include shorts, animation, documentaries, and feature-length, all of which explore a variety of themes in which Latino imagination and creativity approach humor, politics, culture, fiction and art. (Most films are screened in Spanish with English subtitles). Salsa Night is a ticketed event; it offers a unique opportunity to hear, dance and enjoy the dazzling sounds of Salsa. Tickets can be purchased in advanced at the Holland Visitors Bureau.

Historic Van Raalte Farm again hosts the Museum’s annual re-enactment extravaganza on Sat & Sun, Sept 17 & 18 beginning at 9am. This year’s event features an expanded look at the Return to Bull Run with two days worth of music, impressions of historical figures, performances, medical scenarios, period-style vendors, and (of course) the battle.

On September 24, 2011 the partners collaborating towards lake sturgeon rehabilitation would like to invite the public to join in celebrating the first release of juvenile Lake Sturgeon from the New Richmond Facility in the Kalamazoo River.  The celebration will start at 10am and will take place at New Richmond Bridge County Park, 3160 Old Allegan Road, Fevville, MI 49408.  Guest parking will be available on both the north and south sides of the Kalamazoo River.

To help celebrate this momentous occasion a full day of events have been planned, including a kid's fishing event, guided tours of New Richmond Bridge Park and the lake sturgeon rearing facility, food, music, a turning of the historic New Richmond swing bridge, and of course, the release of the juvenile lake sturgeon into the river.

10am - Interpretive tours and kid's fishing event begin (both will end at noon)

12pm - Sturgeon release ceremony begins

1pm - Bridge turning, music and food

2pm - Program Ends
