Title:Tulipanes Latino Art & Film Festival - Holland

The Tulipanes Latino Art and Film Festival will host its 11th Anniversary Festival on Sat & Sun, Sept 17 & 18 in the center of Holland (Michigan) will serve as the principal venue for several events such as the Children's Art Workshop "Hands that Heal", Pinata Breaking, The Musical showcase which future music and dances groups representing Mexico and Latin America. Award-winning films will be shown at the historical Knickerbocker Theatere. Films include shorts, animation, documentaries, and feature-length, all of which explore a variety of themes in which Latino imagination and creativity approach humor, politics, culture, fiction and art. (Most films are screened in Spanish with English subtitles). Salsa Night is a ticketed event; it offers a unique opportunity to hear, dance and enjoy the dazzling sounds of Salsa. Tickets can be purchased in advanced at the Holland Visitors Bureau.

All events are open and free to the public.

Historic Van Raalte Farm again hosts the Museum’s annual re-enactment extravaganza on Sat & Sun, Sept 17 & 18 beginning at 9am. This year’s event features an expanded look at the Return to Bull Run with two days worth of music, impressions of historical figures, performances, medical scenarios, period-style vendors, and (of course) the battle.

Saugatuck/Douglas Historical Society presents “A Patchwork Village from Everyday to Extraordinary, Heritage Festival and Tour”, 11am to 4pm.

This year’s festival will focus on Douglas of today and reflect on Douglas’ rich past. The Home tour will include our former hospital that is now a Bed and Breakfast, a former Inn converted into a lovely home with river views, the old blacksmith shop, a modern take on the old Gerber Building, an historic church and several other homes that range in point in time from the village's oldest to most contemporary. The walking tour will be enhanced with overview lectures at the Old School House and a guided trolley tour of the historic Douglas Lakeshore.
