At all times, Allegan County Central Dispatch staffs a minimum of three dispatchers on duty. These three dispatchers are responsible for answering emergency and non-emergency calls. The dispatchers are also responsible for dispatching all of the police, EMS, and fire departments in Allegan County.
This includes 9 law enforcement agencies, 5 EMS agencies, and 24 fire departments. We also work closely with the Department of Natural Resources, Road Commission, AERO Med, West Michigan Air Care, Hospitals, Michigan Department of Transportation, utility companies, and many other agencies that may be involved in emergency situations.
Our hope is to keep the public fully informed and prepared in the event they have to call 9-1-1. An emergency situation can be very scary but our staff is trained to stay calm and assist in every possible way.
