Implementing public health policy as established by federal, state and local guidelines, is a primary function of the Administrative Services Division under the guidance of the Allegan County Board of Commissioners. The Health Officer and Deputy Health Officer/Environmental Health Director provide the leadership, and guide the vision and implementation strategies for the total department.
In addition, this division serves in a supportive capacity by providing many centralized functions for the entire Health Department. Responsibilities include preparation and revisions of all budgets; financial controls and management; third party billing; receipting and depositing of all moneys; various record keeping and reporting systems; data processing developments and support; planning and evaluation; personnel, payments, and contract management; purchasing; and inventory.
