Electronics Waste Collection 

Hazardous materials can be found in unlikely places sometimes. Paint thinners and other solvents probably spring to mind if you had to take an inventory of what kind of hazardous substances are around your home. It surprises some people that the electronics we have come to rely on can also harbor some hazardous contaminants. Here are some electronics recyclers that serve Allegan County.

TV/Computer Recycling*


Salem Township Transfer Station

(available to Resource Recovery Program communities)

(located near Burnips on 29th Street, 1/4 mile south of 142nd Ave.)

The Salem Township Transfer Station now accepts TV/Computer and Electronic Devices for Recycling.  Any resident with a Resource Recovery Card can participate.  There is a $2 handling fee for TV and computer monitors; everything else is free.  This is a great way to do your part in being "GREEN".  Spread the word about this new service.

(The vendor for this service has a hard drive destruction and a zero landfill policy.)


Allied (Hamilton) Recycling Station

(located at 3310 M-40 Hwy.)

This recycling station is now accepting TV/Computer and Electronic Devices for Recycling.  Service is free with your Resource Recovery Card.  This station is open from 9:00am - 12noon on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month. (Closed January and February.)
