HERITAGE TRAIL GUIDEBOOKS AND CD SETS

Lake Michigan Beach

Main St. In Plainwell, ca Late 1800’s

The best way to experience the Allegan County Heritage Trail is to use the Heritage Trail Guidebook along with the accompanying two-disc audio CD set. The guidebook is a forty-page booklet that highlights all twenty-eight Trail sites with pictures, stories, and other points of interest. Truly, this guidebook is a mini history book of Allegan County. The audio CD set is comprised of recordings from over fifteen local historians and residents further detailing the history of Allegan County. These recordings provide additional information to that which is available in the guidebook. The information is presented in a historical context and many of the stories of the “old days” are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face!

There are many ways to purchase the Heritage Trail Guidebook and CD set. You can print off the CD and Guidebook Order Form, fill it out, and mail it to the Parks and Tourism Office with appropriate payment. Once the Parks and Tourism Office receives this information, a guidebook and/or CD set will be mailed to you. If you do not have the ability to print out the order form, you can call or e-mail the office and a form can be mailed or faxed to you. And, of course, you can always stop into the Parks and Tourism Office during normal business hours and purchase these items as well. Guidebooks and CD sets are also available at all Allegan County Public Libraries and select businesses throughout Allegan County. Click here for a complete list of the public libraries and their contact information.
