Allegan County Launches Community Survey to Shape Future Recycling and Waste Programs

(Allegan)— A new survey is asking for input from Allegan County residents about how to improve how materials are managed locally. All county residents are asked to share their use of existing services, identify new and improved recycling opportunities, and provide feedback for the County. Results from the survey will directly influence the county’s Materials Management Plan (MMP).

“The way we manage waste not only shapes environmental outcomes but also the health of our communities,” said Randy Rapp, Allegan County Environmental Health Services Manager and member of the Allegan County MMP Committee. “Residents have the opportunity to directly provide input on the County’s programming.”

The 15-question survey takes around five minutes to complete and will ask about:

  • Recycling services currently available and used
  • Barriers to and frequency of recycling
  • Cost of recycling services
  • Support for new materials management services
  • Preferred communication methods

The survey will run now until June 3, and all responses are anonymous. Residents can take the survey by visiting this link
