All fees can be paid by cash, check, money order, or a credit/debit transaction. (A service fee based upon amount charged is added to all credit/debit transactions.) All fees are non-refundable.

What Does the Vital Records Office Do?

We file and maintain permanent records of and issue certified copies of:

• Births of individuals born in Allegan County
• Deaths of individuals who were pronounced in Allegan County
• Marriage licenses applied for in Allegan County
  
  • Apply for a Marriage License
  • Order a Certified Copy of a Marriage License
• We process DBAs (Business Registration Certificate for Person Conducting Business Under Assumed Name or Partnership – or Doing Business As)
• We process applications for Concealed Pistol Licenses (new and renewals) for Allegan County residents
• We file DD-214 (Honorable Discharge) forms for Veterans
• We issue Peddler’s Licenses for Veterans
• We file the Notary Bonds for Michigan Notary Applications
