As temperatures drop, it is important to be prepared for things like power outages, using alternate heating sources, and preventing pipes from freezing. Consider the tips and information below to keep yourself and your loved ones safe.

Warming centers:

- The Good Shepherd Episcopal Church (101 N. Walnut Street) in Allegan has been operating a warming center daily from 5 to 9pm, follow “Allegan Warming Center” on Facebook for more information.

- The Allegan District Library (331 Hubbard Street) is a warming center during regular business hours, and they do not follow the Allegan Public Schools closures. Call 269-673-4625 or email memberservices@alleganlibrary.org for more information.

- Keep warm and safe this winter: Tips for using generators, furnaces, and space heaters.
