Communicable Diseases (CD)
Program Overview
The Communicable Disease (CD) program plays a vital role in protecting public health by investigating, detecting, and preventing outbreaks of communicable diseases. Through collaboration with MDHHS (Michigan Department of Health and Human Services), the program conducts outreach and education to raise awareness and promote prevention. It provides thorough case investigations, timely information, and follow-up for affected individuals, while also offering consultation and guidance to schools, childcare centers, healthcare providers, and other facilities to help limit the spread of disease within the community.
